Had a productive day. Started it off with a hard boiled egg, a banana and some almonds. Back on it! Went to crossfit. Did some high bar back squats. 3x3 at 90 percent of max... Don't know max.. I don't think. Just did 145. It was pretty easy, so I'm assuming my max is probably around 175. Perhaps a tad more. Who knows.

The wod was 20 wall balls (I suck at these) but they are good for you. I did the first round using the 14 pound ball and the second and third round using the ten. I wish there were a 12:). 15 back extensions. 10- 45 pound push presses and 5 hang cleans. I used 60. It took me 8:40. Those darned wall balls slow me down because towards the end I have to rest between like every five. They wear me out!!

Then I vacuumed and made a potroast. Next, I magically got a client's dog that won't go outside for anyone to go out and pee AND come back in. I then has a three hour nap scheduled, which never happened. I just milled around and ruzzled, etc.

Went to the nOg run with friends.

If a policeman would've seen me trying to parallel park, I would've surely lost my license...will need to pay for parking next week. Eeek!

I did basically nothing yesterday except for a run and watch 12 hours straight, the complete season 2 of Downton Abbey. I really like the show. Now I'm sitting here toiling over whether or not to buy season 3 on iTunes. PBS had it up until March 4th and of course, now it's down. Bummer. It must be a good show if it can keep my attention for 12 hours. It's pretty predictable, but I still like it;) Plus, the Bod had the hits for Isis Crawley. I liked her FB page..LOL.

I've been puttsing around with my eating for the past few weeks. I've had steady losses of about 1.5 pounds per week, but I'm always stepping on the scale and my weight is going up and down and up and down. It's time to get back on the whole 30 strict for the next 30 days. I can't say that I won't miss my wraps and cheese;(

The only modifications and allowances I will make this time that I didn't last time are regular mayo- the kind with sugar listed as far down as possible as an ingredient. The veganase just isn't worth it to me price wise. Or really taste wise. Although its not bad, it's not mayo mayo to me. And I'm not comfortable making my own. So... There will be mayo. There are 0g of sugar listed, so it's a trace amour anyways. There will be organic relish. Three grams of sugar listed, and it's organic cane sugar. I like a little of this in my chicken and tuna salad and on sliders. And sometimes, there will be the chocolate chips. Just not every day. I have to make some allowances for things to look forward to! But I'm cutting back out the wraps, the cheese and the Annie's Mac and cheese. I think these things have been a show stopper.

Tonight's dinner is good old fashioned chicken kebabs and vegetables. We planned our trip to the grocery store and it's so much easier just to do that. We are having pot roast. Sliders with lettuce. Organic pork sausage. Shrimp. Greek salad. Chicken. Eating clean works best if you just stick to the basics and don't get too fancy!!

I went to the gym today and mixed up my running a little. Walked .5 miles. Ran a mile as fast as I could on the treadmill. 9:07. A little faster than the other day. Walked .5. Ran 1.5 doing intervals of walk run 1 min/1 min. I figure switching things up certainly won't hurt!!

Back the the basics! Our lunch. Boring, but satisfying.

This morning was a great workout at crossfit. We did max of clean and jerk? I think that's what it was. I'm pretty lame at remembering the exact specifics. But what I know is I cleaned 125. Last week I did 120. I think it's partially I'm afraid of the weights... I could probably do a little more even.. Then split jerk, 125 also. Felt good. Then did 6x2 at 85 percent. Then did 85 percent of front squat which was 100 pounds for me. Then after all of that throwing weights around we had to run, well, sprint a mile. Not around the building mile. Down a hill back up a hill by CVS on millbrook mile. I was sad because everyone else's time so far was in the single digits. I HAVE run miles outside under ten minutes, but by the skin of my teeth, and always on the flat. There were two other people there. One did it in around 6:30. The other in around 7:30. Not comparing myself with others, but it was disappointing seeing how far behind I was. When in reality, I was actually way AHEAD of my own pace. Steve told me not to look at my watch. I finished in 9:14!! That's really great for me and I'm pleased!!

Now I have a dog to take care of and see if kath wants to do anything today. Im sad she's leaving. It's nice to have her around. The animals adore their Nina. Especially Ale the cat. I'm seriously considering stowing him in the luggage.
Picture
Ale would love to stow away with his Nina!

This morning's wod was vicious. 85 percent hbbs. I did 145. I still don't know my max on this, 145 was fairly easy for 2 sets of 5, so I'm assuming my max is somewhere around 185-190.

Then the real fun began. As many rounds as possible of 10 thrusters, 10 (ring for me) pull ups and 10 burpees in twenty minutes. I know it doesn't sound like much... But it IS. Omg. I was sad with tiredness after only five minutes. I really need to start working on band pull ups, but I'm afraid at how much worse this workout would've been. UGH!! I did 6 rounds plus two. I think this was worse than the 13.1 workout on Saturday!!! I am not complaining. I absolutely love crossfit and how accomplished I feel when I finish every workout!!

Next, today I took care of the puppy I'm responsible for every day! She pooped and peed all over their beautiful hardwood floors! She's puppy fat and squeals like a small pig and I love her!!

Then I went to Earthfare and picked up my fab Earthlete gear. The jacket is really nice, unfortunately it is too big;( I ordered an xl thinking it would be a women's. I'm swimming it. I'll ask if I can exchange it. If not, I suppose I'll just suck it up and swim in it;) got a nice water bottle, too!

Then Kath and I slothed for awhile. I finally made it to my first Nog run! It was fun. Now that it's lighter out, I'm going to make an effort to make more of the Nog, Big Boss and World of Beer social runs. Why not? The company is great! The route was nice, but I'm also glad I didn't attempt it in the dark. I'm way too clumsy for all of that. It was nice to run with Amber and Hadley;)

Kath made us dinner, with my instructions. She did a great job! She made us pizza "Katherole" and it was delicious!! After a day of double workouts, there WILL be truffles;)

I think Kath is having a nice time. She's really good about making sure we stick to our routine of what we do. Which makes us kind of bad hosts.. But that's just how Kath is. She likes to just come hang out at our house and play with the animals!! She like to nap at her leisure, and kind of just tag along doing whatever it is that we are doing. She's quite easy to please!! Which is nice!!

Last night, we took a late nap and went to Stein Mart. Then had an incredibly late dinner at Red Lobster. I had the Ultimate Feast, which fits into my diet;) and Kath had some maple chicken thing which looked good! The food was good, but the bar area we were seated in was a mess!! I might just write a letter of complaint, it was that bad. My view from the bar was atrocious. Glasses everywhere!! And dirty plates. Business had slowed since it was 11pm, but the rubble remained for almost an hour!!!

Today, we all slept until after 11am. Woke up, had a nice brunch of eggs, canadian bacon, watermelon and gluten free raisin bread. Andy worked in the yard and then he and I went for a long run. My split mile times show that I started off entirely too fast. It is rare that I run a mile under ten minutes, let alone the second mile, especially outside. I ran the first 5k in 34:58!!!! Sweet!! Then, I completely died and struggled, but I did not stop running. I'm thinking I need to maybe progress a little more slowly than a mile a week on the long runs. I also need to keep in mind the Galloway training will have walk intervals, and I'm going to be back pedaling a bit when I start that. I think they start at 3 miles? That's ok. I'll be good and ready and can do a slightly longer run on another day. Plus, I still haven't picked a race yet. That would be important!!!

Tonight, we are headed to Bahama Breeze!! Gotta go get me glamour on the best that I can!! I'm kind of sleepy though;)

This is what happens when I start too fast. Not totally unhappy with the overall pace;)

Mother was received today at Lynn Road in Durham. It was no Downton Abby. But it WAS a step up from the adjacent Biscuitville. Haven't done much yet except play with the animals and eat some Pei Wei. She is entertained. She doesn't have to pick up after anyone else or do anyone else's laundry. YET.

I won another pair of FREE socks today;) Just thought I'd throw that in there for effect. I also want to introduce you to Lilly Belle, who I will be dog sitting, daily!

Picture
Lilly Belle!
Isn't she a gem?

Andy and I made it to crossfit while Kath slothed around eating Bon Bons and sipping Diet Coke. I had three PR's. That's mostly because I had never really attempted a max.

Snatch-85
Clean-120
Front Squat-155

I'm such a bad ass. Not really. But I'll keep on keepin on like I am.

Good night!

Today's two runs proved something. I can run faster than I thought I could. I think this weekend's race was a huge confidence builder, being so close to an even 12 min mile pace for 5 miles with all of those hills. I ran a mile this am under 11 min mile. And this evening, I ran two around my neighborhood, same thing, under 11 min mile. And I really wasn't dying THAT much more than if I was doing 13-14 min miles. I just need to learn to push myself a little harder and a little faster. I'll get there. I think when I'm running with friends, I prefer a slower pace and intervals, so I can talk though and not have to run for the money. Speed work is better left for running alone. I honestly believe losing some weight has made a difference as well. I'm pretty sure my next 5k will be easy to beat my last time which was in the 38's. Good stuff!

I got a light up hat for night running when I went and picked up my free socks that I won from the race. Clearance for ten bucks. It's so cute! Too bad it's getting light out early next week! I also learned that I won the socks due to being "every 50th finisher". At the end of the race, another girl and I were neck and neck and I tried to push to beat her, just because it's in my nature, not to be a bitch or anything. Just that's what you're supposed to do at the end of a race!!! Had I not, I'd have not won the socks!!!
Dinner tonight is a wrap and a half of whole foods chicken salad and some sweet potato chips. The wrap things have really been doing it for me, if you hadn't noticed!!

Chips are Maple Chipoltle Glories!! 4g of sugar per serving!

Animals all seem ok today. Ale the cat did a lot of sleeping. He was high. That's why.

I cleared the rubble for tomorrow's cleaning. Sounds like mother will be here Friday. I had to bulldoze all of the junk into closets and less conspicuous areas so I could actually clean. I told my very tidy mother she would just have to live in filth for a week or so because that's how we do it here. It's not so bad. We make it, somehow.

I also am getting a new puppy client next week! 5 days a week! Good for $, good for exercise! Good all around!

Had a decent work out of the day. We worked on finding our max push press. I did 105. I'm thankful for having nice people there to help me out. The one girl is really nice and patient. I don't know what I'd do without her! She's really good about cheering you on and explaining things. I think someday, I'll be able to get more than 105, but until I get the form
down, that's about all that my back can handle;)

The actual WOD was three rounds for quality, (I like these sometimes because I don't feel like I'm racing anyone and actually spend the time doing things correctly. Sometimes I know I rush.)

3 rounds of
10-50 percent high bar back squat- I used 85 lbs
10-toes to bar-mine are more somewhere around a 90 degree angle, if that
10-back raises
10- kettlebell snatches each arm-I used 18kg probably could've used more but all of the 22 and 26 were gone and 35 would've been way too much.

It was a good workout.

Then we had a good dinner. Not paleo, but gluten free. I made some chicken wraps with roasted sweet potatoes. I only had one wrap, so the calories in this meal probably weren't enough, unfortunately.

I had some chocolate coconut water to make up for that. Chocolate coconut water may be the best thing ever, but it's very expensive!!!

Dinner! Yum!

Heaven-only $2.50 a bottle!
That's all, folks!

Woke up to puddles of blood. Luckily, Ale the cat was kind enough to pee on the dog bed and his pissy pad in front of his litter box. I'm very thankful for that, because it was quite a bit of blood for a little cat!! He was in extra annoying mode last night and this am while I was still sleeping, so I suspected something was up.

$394 later, the cat is now on special food and has pain killers and antibiotics. We've spent $900 on vet bills in exactly one month.

I was not feeling much of anything today. I walked my dogs for pet sitting, and an additional two miles and that's it.

I also ate a forbidden food, and it was so stinking good. I wonder if it'll affect my weigh in for the contest I'm doing tomorrow?

I had one serving sized pack of Annie's organic Mac and cheese with organic ketchup. I swore I'd never eat any ketchup other than heinz, but it his Muir glen brand that had no sugar and corn syrup in it is fabulous!!! Today I had some pot roast, the Mac and cheese and this...
Picture
One serving of Alexia sp fries, ketchup and some organic cream cheese stuffed peppers.
Calorie wise, I was still in a good range for the day. Normally, my Mac and Chee intake would've been an entire box of shells and cheese, so this is progress!!!

And I really enjoyed it!!

I wasn't feeling the best today. Did a lot of slothing around. I really need to get to tidying this house. Mother could be here on Friday, and I don't want her fussing over the rubble.

Here is what makes me so lazy.

Picture
They constantly ask me to nap with them.
Then they get all foolish and start playing games.

Most of them, anyways. They are hard not to love.
Ale's not feeling very photogenic this evening. He's resting quietly on one of my shirts on a kitchen chair.

Good night!

Sunday was a day of sloth. I rested and did no exercise. I have to admit, I was NOT as hungover as I normally would be after drinking. Wonder if that has anything to do with cleaning up the diet and what I chose to drink? Probably.

We had sushi for dinner yesterday and it was quite delicious.

Today I slept dead until 9:30 and it felt awesome. I went and visited with one dog. I don't know it is going to work out with this dog. He refused to go outside... Sat in a corner and shook. This was our first try. Owner never had anyone watch him before. I don't think it's me..I think it's a scared dog. We are going to try a few more times and see how it goes.

Found out I won a pair of socks from the race on Saturday!! Yay!! Free socks! More free socks!! Who doesn't like free things?

Went for a walk today and went to the DENTIST. I have a cavity. Just a small one. Yuck.

Also went to crossfit. The WOD was 12 mins of as many rounds as possible of 10 dead lifts (I used 105), 15 sit ups and 20 wall balls. Wall balls are the devil. I did 3 rounds plus 35. Not my best showing. I could definitely feel the effects of the weekend;)

I have to admit, I wasn't sore from the race at all! Amazing! Thank you CrossFit RDU for getting me stronger and ready to run!

Made a pot roast for tomorrow's lunch and dinner with carrots, celery, sweet potatos and a little salsa and spices. Looks good.

I had qdoba for a late lunch, an honestly, after the workout, I have a touch of heart burn. I ate too late. Now I don't want dinner. I think I'll nibble on some watermelon later on.

Bode is doing much better after taking some antibiotics and eating some
Chicken and rice and some science diet sensitive stomach. He's so darn cute. He also loves bananas. Every time I eat one, he's very interested and watches and begs.
